  • The Irish Research Groupmeets every fourth Tuesday of the month at 7.30 pm at  Library and Archives of Canada on Wellington St. in Ottawa. Discussions include how and where to search your Irish roots and compiling information about Irish surnames in the Ottawa and outlying areas.

    Discussions include the use of the computer in helping to search your roots.
  • Ottawa TMG User’s Group
    The Ottawa TMG Users Group has been started in Ottawa. This self-help group focuses on The Master Genealogist (TMG), a genealogy database program sold by Wholly Genes, Inc. The group is affiliated with the British Isles Family History Society of Greater Ottawa (BIFHSGO), but participation is open to everyone. For complete information, see this web site.

  • BIFHSGO DNA Interest Group
    DNA testing and analysis has become an important and evolving factor in genealogical research. The British Isles Family History Society of Greater Ottawa (BIFHSGO) has a DNA Interest Group that meets quarterly at the Library and Archives Canada. Membership in the group is not limited to BIFHSGO members, and members of the OGS are more than welcome to attend.
