  1. Hello: I am trying to find information re Anthony Cooke born 1793ca in Castlebar, co mayo ireland. His wife Catherine Henneghan,Cooke born in 1813ca in Castlebar, Mayo, Ireland. They were married October 4, 1833 in Castlebar, Ireland. In the 1851 census they were in Richmond, Carleton County Ontario.
Their children,Anthony, John, Catherine, and Susanna were showing in the 1851 census. I have no record of this family after 1851. These are my great, great, great, grandparents Gower Ontario has been mentioned as their address. Would you have any info like address, death, their family members in Ontario and any other information you might have. A reply would be appreciated. Thank you.

  3. I am researching a minor Ottawa artist, Alfred M Edmonds. He was born in Bishopstone, Buckinghamshire, England in 1821, died in 1893 in Ottawa and is buried at Beechwood. Edmonds has a small file at LAC and more information can be found at:
    http://www.cantley1889.ca/english/echo/echocantley_2012-10.html
Here is the question. On Edmonds death certificate it shows that he died in the Ottawa Protestant Hospital. There is a hand-written note beside saying “Jail.” Thus, I assume he died in jail. Is it possible to find Ottawa jail records for the period? I can send further information if you give me a contact email.
    Thanks for your help.

  4. I was in touch several years ago with a member of your society who was researching his Duncan roots. He shared some info with me and we agreed to meet after we returned from our winter holiday. I have lost his phone number. I believe he was a Duncan, and he has a summer home in Inkerman. Do you have an internal forum to make contacts?

    1. We currently have no Duncan as a member, nor do we a forum as you requested. Perhaps he will see your comment and reply.
