In reference to headstone T 102, Alexander McInnis is the correct spelling of the surname, not McGinnis. It is good that it is correct in the index. Thankyou for that. (Actually, the name originally was MacInnis but custom has dropped the a in Mac as I’m sure you know.)

Thank you to all who contributed to keeping up the cemetery and for recording the names and transcribing them, especially Lois and Al Martin. I was pleased to visit the cemetery a few years ago.

Lou, that is an Archives of Ontario reference number and I do not know of any holdings in Ottawa. The library of the Ottawa Branch OGS does have a large collection of cemetery transcriptions, including some from outside our area. You can confirm what are available by checking the Library catalogue on our website.

Lise, there will likely be plenty of records from today for those researching in the future, so I would not worry about the lack of a cemetery record. I hope that your own research will also be available for your descendants.

My family is considering dispersing the ashes of our loved one who was cremated. However, we are concerned that this will make future genealogy research difficult if there is no cemetary record. We would greatly appreciate your advice.

How do I request a marriage for Adam Van Valkenburg and Anna Diamond who were married on April 2 1811 in Ottawa?

I am not even certain if they were married in Ottawa. I am from Michigan and cannot make the trip to Ottawa to look at microfilm, etc.

I followed some of the links and they appear to be “dead links”(form for payment).
